Level I Certification
The Ritger Level I coach training program is a one-day course that addresses the physical game of bowling. Coaches will learn a set of six skill development drills that can be used for group or individual instruction. Coaches will also learn to develop a “coaches eye” and learn corrective drills that can be used to change the feeling of the delivery for their students. Coaches who complete this one-day program will be considered a Level I instructor with the Dick Ritger Academy for Bowlers Coach Training Program.

Level II Certification
The Ritger Level II coach training program is a comprehensive study of lane play. adjustments, spare shooting, and ball reaction. Coaches will learn a mathematical system to play the lanes that will allow their bowlers to find the pocket in three shots or less. Spare shooting systems are also taught here. The Level I coach training is a pre-requisite to this class.
Level II Coach Training Overview
Line bowling – techniques to build accuracy
Lane Play – A mathematical system for adjusting quickly to find the pocket.
Spare shooting system to increase spare conversion rate
Study of ball motion and alternative adjustment systems
Bring your equipment along… this is a hands-on experience!
Level III Certification
The Ritger Level III coach training program is a one-day course that integrates the physical game drills and the adjustment systems presented in the Level II course. Coaches will learn corrective techniques that can be applied quickly and that produce immediate results for the student. Coaches will train bowlers in a clinic setting under the tutelage of our expert instructor. The instructor will help the coaches develop his/her “coaches eye” and will instruct them in methods to recognize common problems and then apply corrective solutions. Coaches who complete all three coach training classes will be considered a Level III instructor with the Dick Ritger Academy for Bowlers Coach Training Program.
Level III Coach Training Overview
- Corrective drills give the bowler the correct “feel” to build consistency
- Coaches technique for hands on training
- Train bowlers under the watchful eye of a mentor with 30+ years experience to apply the teaching techniques that you learn
- Learn how to individualize teaching within a group teaching

Coach Training - Lincoln, NE 7/28 - 7/30/2023 Registration
Please use the form below to register. Pricing for coaches from Nebraska BPA member centers or Nebraska HS coaches: Level I training (Friday only) is $ 50. Tuition for the Level III training is $150 for the three-day training course (Friday-Sunday). Pricing for all other coaches: Level I $ 150, Level III $ 375. A $50 deposit is required per student. When you submit the form, you will be taken to a page where you can pay with a Credit/Debit Card or use a PayPal account. We will invoice you for the remaining balance when the program is confirmed. 5% cancellation fee applies.
